Who we are

Softspoken is made by River Edge Ventures Pty Ltd (ABN 88 701 775 251), trading as Softspoken, an Australian company. You can reach us at hello@softspoken.io.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist we keep your email address, the platform you chose (Mac, Windows or both), and, if you arrived from a link that carried one, a short tag saying where the link came from. We also store a random code that makes your leave link work, and the time your welcome email was sent. If you leave the list, we record when. If an email to you cannot be delivered, or you mark one of our emails as spam, we record when that happened and nothing else about it. That is all the waitlist stores. We do not store your IP address, your browser details or anything else about you.

Softspoken AI accounts

If you sign in to Softspoken AI in the app, we keep your email address, the names you give your devices, and sign-in records. Codes are stored hashed and expire in minutes. We also keep usage records: token counts, timings and whether a request succeeded. We never keep your transcripts, your audio, or anything you dictate or say in a meeting. The MCP connector

If you connect your meeting library to an AI tool through the MCP connector, the meeting text you query goes to the tool you chose; that tool's handling of it is governed by its provider.

How we stop abuse

To stop automated sign-ups we briefly count how many submissions arrive from one connection. That count is kept for ten minutes and then discarded, and it is never linked to your email.

Analytics

This website uses two measurement tools. Vercel Web Analytics counts visits without cookies and without identifying you: the page, the referring site, your country and your device type. Google Analytics tells us which pages are read and how people find us; it sets cookies in your browser to tell a returning visitor from a new one, and Google processes that data on our behalf as a third party. Blocking those cookies changes nothing about how the site works. This is the website only. The Softspoken app has no analytics and no telemetry of any kind, and neither tool ever sees anything you record, dictate or say in a meeting.

Downloads

Each time someone starts a download of Softspoken from this site, we record the day, the platform they chose, and the country the request came from. We never record an IP address, or anything else that could identify who made the request.

What we use it for

We use your email to send you a welcome note when you join, to tell you when Softspoken is ready for you, and occasionally when something big ships. We will not sell it, share it for marketing, or add you to anything else.

Where it is kept

Your details are stored in a database in Sydney, Australia, run by Neon on Amazon Web Services. The site is hosted by Vercel, and the form you submit is processed in Sydney too. Softspoken AI runs in Sydney as well: its database is in Sydney and the AI processing happens there on Amazon Web Services. Sign-in emails are sent through Resend, whose servers for this are in Japan; those emails carry only your address, the code and the device name. A daily summary of new waitlist sign-ups is emailed to us through Resend as well; it contains only the email address, platform and source people entered on the join form. Your welcome email goes through Resend too, and carries only your address, the platform you chose and your leave link, nothing else.

How long we keep it

We keep your details until Softspoken has launched and you have heard from us, or until you ask us to remove them, whichever comes first. If the waitlist closes without a launch, we delete it. If your address turns out not to work, or you mark one of our emails as spam, we delete your waitlist details 30 days later. For a Softspoken AI account, email us and we will delete your account and device records.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@softspoken.io, reply to any email we send you, or use the leave link at the bottom of any waitlist email, and we will do it within a few days. If you are not happy with how we handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
